Hawk is our lover boy. He is very smart and catches on quick. He will be three on December 6th, 2009. He has been shown in obedience and showmanship classes and does quite well every year at the Dane County Fair. He listens and, like most goldens, loves kids. He is our "go-go" boy. We recently had to purchase a ball thrower for him because it was just too tiring to play fetch. He is a good outside and indoor dog. He does well in a kennel and has been a key component to keeping our new pup, Kahlua, occupied. He has dramatically darkened as he has gotten older and is now a very dark gold, just the way we like them!
Update: Hawk just took his OFA test to get his hips checked on December 8th, 2008 and passed with flying colors! He recieved the highest rating of any of our dogs, a Very Good, which is one short of the highest OFA rating. Hawk is from a fair sized breeding program near Watertown, WI, and has very good showing and hunting bloodlines in his background (including Apollo).
