L to R: Hawk, Eesa, Ellie, and Nutmeg posing for a picture with Holly and Chelsea after the 2008 Dane County Fair.
We like to do a little of pre-training for the fair, as well as attending classes for the 4-H Dog Project which focuses specifically on the Dane County Fair. Here Chelsea and Nutmeg are doing figure eights.
Chelsea is practicing a "lay down and stay" for 3 minutes.
Chelsea is showing the judge Nutmeg's "bite" so she can see her pearly whites, while mom looks proudly on in the background. Nutmeg and Chelsea placed 1st and were in the top five of their class for showmanship in 2007 :)
Chelsea is discussing the Golden Retriever breed with her judge and answering a few questions about Nutmeg in their showmanship class.
Chelsea has Hawk's undivided attention while executing a re-call also known as coming when called and sitting at the handler's feet.
Holly is preparing Shadow before her stand-for-exam that the judge administers. A stand-for-exam involves the dog being able to stay standing in place while the judge pets the dog and only moving when the exercise is finished.
Holly performing Brace for the first time and receiving a Reserve Championship Ribbon in 2007 at the Dane County Fair!
GOOD JOB Holly and Dogs...Eesa and her friend, Shadow.
Chelsea and Nutmeg received a Grand Championship Trophy in 2007 for their obedience skills. Great Job Girls!
Ellie and Hawk during Brace waiting for the next cue.
Holly and Chelsea both competed in Brace in 2009 with different dogs (Holly with Ellie and Hawk & Chelsea with Meg and her daughter, Sophie).
Meg(mom) and Sophie(daughter) make a great team and actually received a Reserve Champion ribbon in Brace for 2009 :)
Sophie is owned by the Schaack family and the 2009 dog show was her first time at a show!
